11-2!

Dan Shaughnessy of The Boston Globe summed it up nicely: "At 11:56 last night, Casey Blake hit a towering shot toward the 420 (foot) sign in the deepest part of center field at Fenway Park. The ball descended from the October sky and settled into the outstretched mitt of a galloping Coco Crisp, who crashed into the bullpen fence and dropped to the ground holding the American League pennant in his hand."

Well, I was wondering when one of Dad's kids would contact us about this stupendous victory. The funny thing is, I was up, expecting some comment from the most avid Red Sox fan in the Northeast. Nope, he just went quietly to bed. Even I stayed up to watch the end of the game.

I confess that I slept through much of it. I made it through the 7th inning to see the Sox secure a comfortable lead, then fell asleep... and woke up just as Dave was turning off the TV. I got to see the replay of Coco Crisp's catch, and the reaction of Jonathan Papelbon (the closing pitcher). That was priceless.

I had to go to bed because of the future-Red-Sox-fan, but Rob stayed up for the whole thing and let me know when he came to bed.

well, it's not as if he has a choice, does he? :)

There are apparently a lot of cute onesies out there that say things like "Yankees Yuk"--I just have to find out where to get them.
