Week 12 - saturday

The sheetrock is all installed, and it looks great.

The only stange thing is the way they sheetrocked right over the cable boxes Dave put in each bedroom. At first we thought they just didn't see them. Then we realized that the cable boxes, just like the outlet boxes and switch boxes, were mounted so that they extended a half-inch beyond the studs so they'd be flush with the sheetrock. So not ony did the rockers see the boxes, they must have removed them and remounted them so that they could put the sheetrock over them without it bowing.

Not rocket science, but apparently it's a trade requiring common sense.

Luckily Dave was able to find them and uncover them.

And here's a to-do list I left for Louie. We got the heat turned on and we ordered our stair parts - can't wait to see the staircase when the iron ballusters and oak railing are installed.

Just returned from Vermont and mid-peak views of fall foliage. Remember? It's so nice to see the progress with sheetrocking finished. It's all shaping up quickly now. Only the really fun stuff is left!

by the really fun stuff, you mean paying for it? :)

And don't forget the painting and the refinishing og floors!

Paiting starts next weekend. We have days and days of painting to do. Fortunately all three of the new bedrooms and the laundry room will be the same color - an offwhite, which will also go on the ceiling. Even the trim in the bedrooms will be that color (in a higher gloss level), so the cutting-in will be easy.

The hallway, however, will be a different color. It's a bold choice - unless I chicken out before then. You'll have to wait for the pictures to learn the mystery color.

Guess what we have a project to work on, not so intense as yours but will be repainting Taryn's room with the colors she wants. We got her bedding and desk lamp so far and gots the paints to get started sometime some. She's going with light purple, green and orange. Tim needs to work on getting the bunny border off and touch up the walls/cover the endless amount of thumb tack holes.

Taryn wants to use the green and orange colors to make circle/dots on the walls.

I sure hope this makes us into the ranks of home improvement.

Dan wanted to do the circles on the walls too. I think he got the idea from an ad on TV. I can't wait to see the pics of Taryn's room. Definitely I can see why she has moved past bunnies.

Don't forget to take "before" pictures!

The colors she has chosen sound like they'll be very pretty together.
